Federal Entrepreneur Program
Entrepreneur is a businessperson who
- has at least two years of business management experience;
- has a legally obtained minimum net worth of $300,000; and
- complies with the conditions in entrepreneur category.
Entrepreneurs must provide a Business Plan about the prospective business they intend to establish in Canada. They will be given about two years to establish their business. There is no minimum or maximum amount of investment required. However, the entrepreneur applicants must have in their possession enough funds to implement their business plan and support their families and create jobs for at least one Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
On June 19 2014, Bill C-31 became law and applications which were still in the backlog of the federal Immigrant Investor Program and Entrepreneur Program were terminated.
